Conjunto Habitacional Beato

Located in an area of Lisbon strongly characterized by the presence of industry, Beato.
The project proposes the maintenance/recovery of the fronts that define the streets, demolishing the entire core and leaving them alone, as if they were a ruin. Inside this new enclosure, 3 pink housing blocks were created and dialogue with the pre-existence (of the same tone), creating visual familiarity and contrast with the green of the new vegetation. The intervention includes new commercial and service areas, seeking to bring life to the complex, in addition to creating a garden in this new area. Through the existing facade, the pedestrian connections that linked Rua do Beato to the riverside side are replaced, allowing total permeability in the urban fabric, promoting greater integration with the social fabric, and living spaces that are more protected from traffic and noise, on Rua Infante Dom Henry. Each housing block results from a centrifugal movement around the axis of the atrium, which breaks it into 4 to fragment its presence within the garden, creating corners and shadows that help to soften the scale of the construction. Each floor consists of 4 residential units: 1 T2, 1 T1 and 1 T3.

Localizado numa zona de Lisboa fortemente caracterizada pela presença de indústria, o Beato.
O projeto propõe a manutenção/recuperação das frentes que definem os arruamentos, demolindo todo o miolo e deixando-as apenas, como se de uma ruína se tratasse. No interior deste novo recinto criam-se 3 blocos de habitação cor de rosa que dialogam com a pré-existência (do mesmo tom), criando uma familiaridade visual e contraste com o verde da nova vegetação. A intervenção inclui novas áreas comerciais e de serviços, procurando atrair vida ao conjunto, para além da criação de um jardim neste novo entremeio. Através da fachada existente repõem-se as ligações pedonais que uniam a Rua do Beato ao lado ribeirinho, permitindo total permeabilidade no tecido urbano, promovendo maior integração com o tecido social, e espaços de convivência mais protegidos do tráfego e ruído, da Rua Infante Dom Henrique. Cada bloco de habitação resulta de um movimento centrifugo sobre o eixo do átrio, que o parte em 4 para fragmentar a sua presença dentro do jardim, criando recantos e sombras que ajudam a suavizar a escala da construção. Cada andar é composto por 4 unidades residenciais: 1 T2, 1 T1 e 1 t3.
